Dear Alumni,
The University is pleased to announce that, like the
previous year, the "Notebook / Desktop Ownership
Program 2004" will be extended to all HKUST alumni.
Under this program, alumni may purchase selected
computer products at an attractive price. These
include latest IBM notebooks, desktop computers, and
other computer accessories. Details are as below:
A. Application Deadline
October 31, 2004 (Sunday)
B. Road Shows
August 11-14 & 16-17 (10:00 20:00)
Chia-Wei Woo Academic Concourse (outside Citibank
Lecture Theatre), HKUST
September 1-6 (10:00 20:00)

C. Order Placement
Each alum is allowed to buy at most one notebook and
one desktop computer. To place an order, please:
1. Complete the order form (which can be downloaded
from ITSC's web page)
2. Prepare a copy of the following supporting
documents:
a. For member of the HKUST Alumni Association your
membership card, OR
b. For alumnus who is non-member of HKUST Alumni
Association your HKUST graduation certificate or
Alumni Credit Card; AND
c. Your Hong Kong Identity Card; AND
3. Fax the completed order form with the supporting
documents to PCCW at 2646 4638 (From Aug 11 - Oct 31).
4. A Sales Confirmation will be sent via email or fax
to the alumnus once payment is confirmed. If the
alumnus does not hear from PCCW, he or she may contact
PCCW University Notebook Ownership Program Enquiry
Hotline 2883 3800 to check the status.
5. Stock fulfillment will be arranged after payment is
confirmed. Please present the Sales Confirmation
during receipt of goods.
D. Payment Methods
For orders placed at the roadshow site, payment can be
completed by:
1. One-time Full Payment
a. Bank-in Cash Transfer
Original bank-in slip is required to be presented
during stock redemption (payable to " CCW-HKT LIMITED"
with HSBC account number 567-621-685-004, or "CCW-HKT
LTD" with BOC account number 012-875-0-020449-9).
PCCW Customer Service Representative will advise the
details; OR
b. Personal Cheque
Crossed cheque along with your application (payable to
"CCW LIMITED" with your name and contact phone number
overleaf); OR
c. Credit Card & EPS
Credit card & EPS for full payment can be accepted and
PCCW Customer Service Representative will advise the
procedure; OR
2. Instalment
Please note that 12-month interest free instalment
plan is available for cardholders of Hang Seng or Bank
of China VISA / MasterCard.
For order placement by phone:
ONLY full payment by credit card (cardholder's name
must be the same as the name of alumni) will be
accepted.
E. Stock Fulfillment Methods
1. For Desktop
Home delivery service will be provided for desktop
purchases. Delivery charges may be levied for
selected remote areas within Hong Kong (like outlying
islands, Lantau Island and Ma Wan). For details,
please consult PCCW Customer Service Representative.
2. For Notebook & Others
a. Stock Redemption on Campus
You can pick up the stock in person and PCCW Customer
Service Representative will advise stock redemption
date, time and venue. ***
b. Stock Redemption at PCCW Office
You can pick up the stock in person at designated PCCW
office. *** (PCCW Customer Service Representative will
advise the details).
*** An authorization letter is required if you are not
going to pick up in person. Please present all
supporting documents during stock redemption.
c. Home Delivery
Home delivery service can be provided for special
circumstances upon request. Charges may be levied.
For details, please consult PCCW Customer Service
Representatives.
General stock fulfillment lead-time is around 3-4
weeks, subject to stock availability. Earlier stock
redemption may be arranged if stock is available.
