This package provides the Video Driver for Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. This driver enables the following video chips on the system board:
- ATI MOBILITY FIREGL V3200
- ATI MOBILITY RADEON X300
- ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600
- ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M
The following ThinkPad systems are supported:
- ThinkPad R51e
- ThinkPad R52 (Machine Type : 1846, 1847, 1848, 1849, 1850, 1870)(*1)
- ThinkPad T43, T43p (Machine Type: 26xx)(*2)
- ThinkPad Z60m
Notes:
- *1: Other Machine Types of ThinkPad R52 family are not supported. Please get the additional package for them, and install it, as well.
- *2: Machine Types 18xx of ThinkPad T43 family are not supported. Please get the additional package for them, and install it, as well.

(Important) (ThinkPad T43/T43p/R52) If the version 8.163.xxx of display driver is installed, blue screen error happens after resuming normal operation from standby mode.
(Fix) (ThinkPad R51e) Subtitles on the screen are not good quality when DVD titles are played back with WinDVD software.
Note: Update the WinDVD with version 5.0-B11.295 (or higher).

Installation instructions
Install
Note:
Software Installer provides install/uninstall wizard for this package.
Start Windows 2000/XP and logon with administrative privileges.
Extract the drivers to the hard drive.
Click Start and then click Run.
In the Run dialog window, type the path of the location that the drivers were extracted to \SETUP.EXE to install the video driver. Click OK to start the installation process.
Follow the instructions on the screen.
At the Select Components screen, click Express
At the Setup Complete screen, click Yes, I want to restart my computer now.
Click Finish to reboot the system and complete the installation.
Unattended install
Note: This is for system administrators'; use only.
Start Windows 2000/XP and logon with administrative privileges.
Extract this package onto the hard drive.
At the command line execute SETUP.EXE with the /K -SMS options.
For example:
[Path where the files were extracted]\SETUP /K -SMS
Determining which version is installed
Windows XP
Click Start and then click Control Panel.
Click Appearance and Themes.
Click Display.
Select Settings.
Click Advanced.
Select Options. The version number will be displayed.
Windows 2000
Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click the Display icon.
Select the Settings tab.
Click the Advanced button.
Select Options. The version number will be displayed.
