This package installs the software (display driver) to enable the following video chips on the system board.

- NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M

The following systems are supported:
- ThinkPad R61
- ThinkPad T61

Note:

- Refer to marketing materials to find out what ThinkPad models support which video chips.
- If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.

Installation instructionsNotes:
-You need to install Kernel development (Kernel Source code) and C/C++ Compiler before installing the Video driver. (See how to install Kernel Source and C/C++ Compilers)
-Preloaded systems come with RPM installed nvidia driver; this should be uninstalled first before installing <nvidia>.run driver. (See how to uninstall nvidia RPM driver)

Start SUSE Linux.
In a terminal window, use the su (switch user) command to obtain root privileges.
Copy l7kv07us.run file to the hard drive, for example, /home/drivers directory.
Type init 3 to run in console without the X server.
Change directory to the location where you saved the file.
Type sh l7kv07us.run to install the driver.
Type nvidia-xconfig
Type init 6 to reboot

How to Silent Install the Driver:
1. At runlevel 3 run sh ./l7kv07us.run -s -X

Note:
- -s = silent installation
- -X = configures xorg.conf to use nvidia driver

UninstallUninstall <nvidia>.run

Start SUSE Linux
In a terminal window, use the su (switch user) command to obtain root privileges.
Type nvidia-installer --uninstall
Type sax2 -r
Go to Computer > Shutdown, and select Restart Computer.

Uninstall nvidia RPM package:

Start SUSE Linux
In a terminal window, use the su (switch user) command to obtain root privileges.
See what RPM package is installed.
- -Two rpm packages should be uninstalled:
  - X11-video-nvidiaG01-lenovo-xx
  - nvidia-gfxG01-lenovo-kmp-smp-xx_yy

Note:

xx = refers to the driver version
yy = refers to the kernel version

Run rpm -e <x11-video-nvidiag01-lenovo-xx> <nvidia-gfxg01-lenovo-kmp-smp-xx_yy>Determining which version is installedIn a terminal window, type nvidia-settings -q NvidiaDriverVersion to display the current version of nvidia driver installed in the system
*Determining if 3D is enabled:
In a terminal window, type nvidia-settings -g | grep OpenGL and confirm OpenGL vendor string indicates Nvidia Corporation.
Example:

OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL renderer string: Quadro NVS 140M/PCI/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 2.1.1 NVIDIA 100.14.27
